Overview

Step Back in Time with the Inca Bridge

Ever dreamed of walking across a bridge that’s been rebuilt for over 500 years? Join Salkantay Trekkers Peru on the Q’eswachaka Tour 1 Day and explore one of the last remaining Inca bridges. This incredible bridge, made from natural fibers, hangs high above the Apurimac River at 3,700 meters (12,139 ft). Every June, thousands of locals come together to repair it, keeping this ancient tradition alive. What to Expect on the Tour

Morning Pickup

Your adventure starts bright and early! We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 AM and 4:45 AM. If you’re staying outside the city center, we’ll meet you at our office building. By 5:00 AM, we’re off on our private vehicle to begin the journey.

First Stop: Combapata

After a two-hour drive, we arrive in Combapata for a hearty local breakfast. Then, just 15 minutes more drive brings us to the Combapata Viewpoint, where you can enjoy beautiful views where the Salcca River meets the Vilcanota River—the Sacred River of the Incas.

Journey to Q’eswachaka

Next, we drive to Yanaoca, a district in the Canas province, and then another 30 minutes to the Q’ewe district. Here, you’ll catch your first glimpse of the ancient Q’eswachaka Bridge suspended between rocky cliffs. We’ll get out of the car and walk down a steep path to a viewpoint for some awesome photos.

Cross the Inca Bridge

Get ready for an unforgettable experience as you carefully cross the swaying bridge. Don’t look down! On the other side, our bridge attendant will welcome you and share the history of this amazing structure.

Lunch Time

After crossing the bridge, we’ll drive to a local spot for a delicious lunch. Enjoy some tasty Peruvian dishes before we continue our adventure.

Explore the Four Lagoons

Our final stop includes visiting four stunning lagoons: Pampamarca, Asnacqocha, Acopía, and Pomacanchi. These lakes sparkle like jewels against the green hills, perfect for relaxing and taking photos with native flamingos and other birds around.
