Choquequirao, located in the Cusco region, is an impressive archaeological site and less known than Machu Picchu. Often called the “sacred sister” of Machu Picchu due to architectural similarities, Choquequirao offers visitors the opportunity to explore agricultural terraces, temples and plazas in a remote and spectacular setting amid the Andes Mountains. The journey to reach Choquequirao is often challenging but rewarding, with trails passing through cloud forests and deep valleys, offering a unique experience of adventure and archaeological discovery.
