Start your adventure with a 6:30 AM pickup from the Machu Picchu Reservations office in Cusco. Embark on a 6-hour drive through stunning Andean landscapes, passing by picturesque valleys and mountains.
Upon arriving at Hidroelectrica, enjoy a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, giving you energy for the next part of the journey.
After lunch, begin a scenic 3-hour hike (approximately 11 km) along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes, surrounded by lush vegetation and towering peaks. Upon reaching the charming town, check into your hostel, where you can unwind with hot showers and WiFi.
In the evening, savor a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, where your guide will meet you to provide important information about the next day’s activities. Afterward, settle in for a good night’s sleep in preparation for the exciting day ahead.
Rise early to begin your journey to Machu Picchu, choosing between a bus ride ($12) or a 2-hour hike starting at 4:00 AM. Either way, arrive at the entrance by 6:00 AM, where your guide will be waiting to lead you on an immersive tour of the Inca citadel.
During the guided 2-hour tour, learn about the history, architecture, and significance of this iconic archaeological site. Highlights include the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, and the Temple of the Three Windows.
After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore the ruins further. Optional hikes to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain offer breathtaking views, or you can visit the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).

Board the vehicle for a 7-hour drive back to Cusco, offering time to reflect on your incredible adventure. Expect to reach Plaza Regocijo in the city center by 9:00–10:00 PM, concluding your memorable Machu Picchu Tour by Car.
