After enough of the treetop path, time for zip line. Local teacher gives tips on staying safe and how to enjoy it most. Ready now, slide on the 190-meter zip line.
Teacher meets you, helps cross a 100m short bridge. Then zip back to where you started.
Done with that, back to shelter for midday meal. Staff serves real Amazon food. After eating, relax time in hammocks at shelter.
Begin with short 200-meter stroll from shelter to Treetop Tower. Stands 35 meters up, made next to huge Lupuna Tree. Tree stands for Amazon because of its big build.
All day, spot different birds there. Local pro explains details on plants and animals around.
Afternoon start, we go for paddle adventure. Take paddle boats from shelter. Staff fits you with safety stuff.
Ready, we start. Backup boat follows to check everyone’s okay.
Chance then to beat Amazon heat with a swim in cool Madre de Dios River waters.
After paddle fun, back on boat for 15-minute ride down to Monkey Spot. Name fits, island has various monkey types.
See bunch of capuchin monkeys, black ones (Cebus apella), white ones (Cebus albifrons), and more. Many are friendly. With local pro, get near, feed them too, watch how they live in Tambopata protected zone.
After, back to shelter by about 4:30 PM. See Amazon sunset there.
Post sunset, get on boat with lights and head out to find alligators. Their eyes shine from lights, easier to spot at night.

By about 7:30 PM, back to shelter for evening meal and good rest.
Wake to bird calls. Staff serves tasty Amazon morning meal. Usual one has fresh juice from fruit, fresh Peru coffee cup, eggs, flat cakes, fried bananas, more.
Morning at 9:30, take boat, cross river to check point. There, local officials note visitor details. Then start hour-long walk, 3 kilometers to Sandoval water body.
On walk, chance to see varied plants, animals. Might spot big river otters, other mammals too.
At Sandoval water body edge, serve tasty midday meal in rainforest. Then row boat, go to middle of water body to see more birds, mammals.
Area has hoatzins, water birds like cormorants, anhingas. Sometimes folks see famous “fun river wolves”. After close look at Sandoval water body life, back to shelter.
Evening around 6:30, start walk to see night animals in safe area. Guide explains them fully.
Around 7:30 PM, back to shelter for evening meal.
Wake you with Amazon morning meal. Morning around 8, walk to local group for direct look at their living.
Visit native family from old fighters and hunters. See their old ways and habits.
Known for art works. If you want, buy one.
After local family meet, get on boat to stream for simple fishing. Water has fish types like catfish, small ones, sardines, piranha.
Bring catch to shelter, cook makes it with local flavors for midday meal.
After eating, evening yours to relax in hammocks.
Evening later, serve meal.
Final day of Tambopata Peru trip starts early boat from shelter. Go to Parrot Clay Wall. Time to settle before birds slowly come down to wall for clay.
Chance to spot blue head parrots, dawn ones, small parrots, other bird types too. This lasts about 1 hour, time to record, get best views, watch these nice birds with jungle sunrise.
At 7 AM approx, back to shelter for morning meal. After, move you to our spot in Puerto Maldonado.
