Day 1: Cusco – Tinki – Ausangate Seven Lakes – Cusco

Your Ausangate Seven Lakes adventure begins early, with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM. After gathering all participants, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to the village of Tinki, located approximately two hours from Cusco. This journey offers picturesque views of the Andean highlands, with rolling hills and snow-capped peaks in the distance.

From Tinki, the journey continues with another hour’s drive to the starting point of the hike. Upon arrival, a hearty breakfast will be served, giving you the energy needed to begin your trek through this stunning region.

The Hike to the Seven Lakes

The hike starts with a gentle uphill trail that takes about 1.5 hours to reach the first lake. This serene spot provides the first glimpse of the turquoise and emerald waters that define this magical landscape. The subsequent six lakes are spread out along mostly flat or downhill terrain, making the hike accessible and enjoyable for participants of varying fitness levels.
