We go to your hotel in Cusco at 6:00 am to pick you up, we will then have a half-hour drive to the beginning of the pathway which is Tambomachay( it was a religious centre during the Incan time), the hike starts at this point going gradually up to Sicllaqasa pass (4,035m / 13,194feet), from this pass, we will keep walking on the nice path until reaching the Ccauca highland valley; in which, the valley still keeps some ancient Incan ruins; the path leads up to the next Queullaqocha pass (4,200m / 13,734feet), this place is a Kodak spot, because from this place we’ll have stunning views around, we’ll see massive mountains further away such as: Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon, Sawasiray. Our hike continues and after a while, we’ll see the Queullaqocha lagoon and we walk close by, where we’ll see highland birds. Afterwards we’ll hike up to the next pass called Challu Challu (4,230m / 13,832feet), from this point we’ll have some awesome views of Chinchero Plateau, Piuray lagoon, Qoricocha lagoon. Subsequently we’ll ascend to the last pass known as Rumicruz(4,250m / 13,898feet), and we’ll arrive to the Incan rock quarry, which was the main rock source for the construction of Huchuy Qosqo, eventually we’ll arrive to Pumamarqa highland rural community(3,980m / 13,015feet), where we camp. In the evening we will have tea time, subsequently dinner.
