Between 5:30 and 6:00 AM, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in our company van. From there, we will embark on our journey, ascending the winding roads of the Andes, passing through hamlets and villages until we reach the entrance of the jungle, Ajanaco at 3500m. From this point, we will descend through the lush cloud forest. This is a place filled with exotic vegetation, including orchids, heliconias, and ferns. During this time, we might be able to spot the Cock of the Rock, umbrella bird, trogon, quetzal or oropendolas. Finally, we will reach our lodge to relax and rejuvenate.
After breakfast, we will take a nature walk to spot birds and monkeys. Then, we will take a 1-hour bus ride to the Atalaya port, where we will embark on a 30-minute boat ride to our lodge. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to swim in the river or enjoy a mud bath. After lunch, we will sail on a raft in the Machuhuasi Lagoon, observing shanshos, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, tapirs, and more. After dinner, we will embark on an intriguing night hike. Overnight stay at the lodge with private bathrooms and showers.
At dawn, we will sail to the parrot clay lick to watch these lively birds as they eat the nutrient-rich wall. Afterward, we will return for breakfast and a rest before setting out on trails to explore the diverse fauna and flora. This includes the tallest and thickest tree (ceiba), and potentially spot monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras or tapirs. To end the day, we will go on a night hike focusing on insects, amphibians, or snakes before staying overnight at the lodge.
In the morning, we will explore a trail for one last time to observe the wildlife of the jungle. Later, after a delicious breakfast, we will return by boat to Atalaya, where we will take a van back to Cusco. During the journey, we will have opportunities to spot hummingbirds, orchids, waterfalls, and potentially birds and monkeys. After leaving the lush jungle behind, we will pass through mountains with spectacular views of the Andes. In the evening, we will arrive in Cusco between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

ExcellentBased on 3 reviewslehtierik2018-07-03Amazing trek with the best guide I did the Inca trail to Machupicchu for 4 days and 3 nights, with Salkantay Trekkers Peru. Our organization was excellent I joined a group of 6 people. We had the briefing one night before our departure where our guide Jose gave us full information and some suggestions. The service was very good, with all the staff that we went from the first day between them it is worth mentioning the service of our Cheff and our porters who were the people who took our travel luggage. The whole group saw the desire to work as a team, and in a professional manner. Our Guide Jose very kind and attentive with all the group of tourists and the staff of the Agency. I had the best travel experience with this group and very organized, I congratulate the whole group for making me part of this unforgettable experience. I recommend this travel agency in Cusco, for those people who are interested in traveling to Machu Picchu.Belen F2018-07-03El mejor!! Machu Picchu mi Excursión con ellos. Organizaros perfectamente.
