Get ready for an awesome 4-day adventure through the Manu Cultural Zone, starting in Cusco and exploring the amazing cloud forest, Paucartambo, and Pilcopata. On the first night, you’ll camp out in Pilcopata. The next morning, enjoy breakfast at the Pilcopata Lodge before heading to Atalaya, where the stunning landscape will blow you away. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the Paititi Lodge for your second night in the jungle.
On Day 3, we’ll visit the vibrant Collpa de Loros (Parrot Clay Lick) and the mesmerizing Cocha Maravilla (Marvelous Lake). After that, we’ll head back to the Paititi Lodge for your third and final night in the jungle. The next morning, enjoy one last breakfast surrounded by the lush rainforest before making our way back to Cusco, wrapping up your unforgettable tour of the Manu Cultural Zone.

We’ll kick off bright and early! Between 5:30 and 6:00 AM, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco with our company van. From there, we’ll set off on winding Andean roads, passing through charming little hamlets and villages until we reach Ajanaco at 3,500 meters—the entrance to the jungle.
Once we’re in the jungle, we’ll descend into the lush cloud forest. This area is packed with exotic plants like orchids, heliconias, and ferns. Keep your eyes open for colorful birds like the Cock of the Rock, umbrella bird, trogon, quetzal, or oropendolas. After a day full of exploration, we’ll arrive at our lodge where you can relax and recharge for the night.
Meals Included: Breakfast on the way, lunch in the cloud forest, and dinner at the lodge.
After a good breakfast, we’ll go on a nature walk to spot all sorts of birds and monkeys. Then, it’s off to the Atalaya port with a 1-hour bus ride. From there, we’ll hop on a boat for a 30-minute ride to our next lodge. Along the way, you can choose to take a dip in the river or enjoy a relaxing mud bath.
After lunch, we’ll sail on a raft in the beautiful Machuwasi Lagoon. Keep your eyes peeled for shanshos, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, tapirs, and more amazing creatures. After dinner, get ready for an exciting night hike to explore even more of the jungle’s wonders. We’ll spend the night at our comfy lodge with private bathrooms and showers.

At dawn, we’ll set sail to the parrot clay lick to watch these lively birds feast on the nutrient-rich clay. It’s a colorful and noisy spectacle you won’t forget! After a tasty breakfast, we’ll head back to the lodge to rest a bit before hitting the trails again.
We’ll explore areas with the tallest and thickest trees, like the ceiba tree, and keep an eye out for more monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, or tapirs. To wrap up the day, we’ll go on another night hike focusing on insects, frogs, or snakes before settling in for the night at the lodge.

Highlights of the Day:
On our last day, we’ll take one final hike to observe the amazing wildlife of the jungle. After a delicious breakfast, we’ll boat back to Atalaya and then hop in the van for our trip back to Cusco. Along the way, you might spot hummingbirds, orchids, waterfalls, and maybe even more birds and monkeys.
Leaving the green jungle behind, we’ll drive through the stunning Andean mountains with spectacular views. We’ll arrive back in Cusco between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, bringing our unforgettable tour of the Manu Cultural Zone to an end.
